CONNECTING MEN TO THE NEXT GENERATION
The Village Mentoring
What makes our program unique is that rather than a student graduating out of the program, they graduate into a mentoring community. When a student officially becomes a part of The Village, they will have access to a growing number of adult mentors and leaders who are committed to their growth and prosperity. The mentoring community (Village) is made up of people who fill 1 of 5 roles:
Prayer Team – The purpose of the team is to uphold the mentoring community in prayer.
Investor – The investors are individuals who personally commit to giving monthly to RLI. The investors also include corporate sponsors and community partners who believe in the mission of RLI. If you would like more info on how to be an investor please fill out the form. We're looking for people who believe that it really does take a village to raise a child.
Advocate – Men who fill the Advocate role are seasoned (age 35 and up) and provide a “father-figure” for the young men within the community. As an Advocate, you are required to attend a mentor session once (1) a month in order to build rapport with the young men. Also, we ask each Advocate to check-in with at least two young men outside of a group session per month.
Coach – Men who fill the Coach role are younger (age 19 - 34) and provide a “big brother” for the young men within the community. As a Coach, you are required to attend a mentor session twice (2) a month in order to build rapport with the young men. Also, we ask each Coach to check-in with at least two young men outside of a group session per month.
Alumni – Recent graduates of the program. Alumni will meet once-a-month time with their local chapter for check-ins, leadership development, community service, and mentoring other potential recruits.
